Slow cooker mince
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Come home to a ready-to-eat meal. Crockpots (or slow cookers) are great for busy people.
Cooking directions
- Place beef, onion, garlic, herbs, carrot, canned tomatoes and stock in crockpot / slow cooker.
- Cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours (check manufacturer's instructions).
- Add canned corn and chilli beans towards end of cooking, cook for another 30 minutes.
- Cook frozen vegetables (follow instructions on the pack).
- Serve mince and vegetables with your choice of rice, baked potatoes, creamy potato mash, pasta, wraps, or wedges.
Ingredients
500 grams lean beef mince
2 large onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons dried mixed herbs
1 carrot, sliced or grated
1 tin chopped tomatoes (410 gram tin)
1/4 cups low-salt beef stock, or water
1 can whole kernel corn (330g can), 420 gram tin
1 tin chilli bean (420 gram tin), baked beans work well too
1 bag frozen stir-fry vegetables
