Popcorn
Preparation time: 3 minutes
Minutes in the microwave. A low-cost fun recipe that is really easy to make. Store in an air-tight container and it will last for a couple of weeks (if you haven't eaten it all before then!).
Cooking directions
Cook in the microwave:
- Place oil and popcorn in an oven bag (use a non-metal tie) or ice-cream container. Shake to coat popcorn with oil.
- Cook on 100% power for 2 1/2 minutes or until most kernels have popped.
- Unpopped corn can be returned to the microwave.
Or cook on the stove top:
- Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan.
- Add the popcorn.
- Cover the pan with a lid and shake over the heat to prevent burning.
- Corn should be popped in 2 to 3 minutes.
Makes approximately 8 to 12 cups.
For a change, try adding 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 a cup of sultanas after the corn has popped.

Ingredients
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup popping corn
